3/27/10 - The Patriots Varsity baseball team competed in the La Jolla Tournament this past week and finished with 2 wins and 2 losses. This improves the Patriots record to 3-3 on the year as they head into the Lions Tournament next Monday. Key to the success this season has been great defense and pitching. The Patriots had no defensive errors through the first three games of the tournament and a team ERA of 1.20. Despite these great stats the Patriots fell to eventual tournament champion Canyon Crest 2-0 and tournament runner-up La Jolla Country Day 2-1 in the first two games of the tournament. The bats came alive in the next two games as the Patriots beat Bishops 6-1 and Horizon Christian (Oregon) 9-8 in a dramatic two out rally down 5-8 in the 7th.

The Patriots schedule for next week over spring break in the Lions Tournament is as follows:

Mon: OG @ Calvin Christian (Escondido) 12pm
Tue: OG @ San Diego High School vs. Hoover 12pm
Wed: Washington (San Francisco) @ OG 12pm
Thurs: Championship game TBD
